Test Engineer – Chennai (Remote)

Mobile Testing Profile:

1. Pre-launch mobile device testing, handset testing, mobile chipset testing, and prototype models.
2. Field testing, sanity testing, feature testing, functional testing, system testing, device flashing, compatibility testing, retesting, regression testing, performance testing, load testing, stress testing, and mobility and stationary testing of 2G/3G/4G LTE smartphones in India and abroad.
3. Device acquisition, flashing on the latest software build, performing stationary and mobility testing, and network testing.
4. UI testing, integration testing, regression testing, network testing, and 2G/3G/4G/LTE testing.
5. Log capturing using logging tools like QXDM, ELT, Wireshark, ADB, and ODL.
6. Network-related protocol testing on different national operators.
7. Performing debugging analysis in LTE and VoLTE technologies to find the possible root cause.
8. Executing field test cases to verify call performance, voice quality, handovers, data performance, and location functionality of mobile phones.
9. End-user product testing and benchmarking of cell phone products, including performance and location functionality.
10. Testing call quality on 2G, 3G, and 4G networks.
11. Providing full R&D support and maintenance for pre-launch and post-launch products, including reproduction and diagnosis of problems.
12. Preparation of bug and test summary reports, execution of test cases on GSM, WCDMA/UMTS, LTE, IRAT, and VoLTE, and involvement in test plan and test strategy preparation.

Skill Set Required:

1. Good knowledge/experience in mobile testing, drive testing, device testing, or field testing.
2. Good knowledge of Windows and Android mobile.
3. Knowledge of QXDM, QPST, QCAT tools, and MediaTek, Spreadtrum, or Qualcomm chipsets will be an added advantage.
4. Knowledge of 2G, 3G, and 4G architecture and 2G/3G channels.
5. Knowledge of LTE and LTE-A technologies and concepts (IMS, VoLTE, VoWiFi, CSFB, SRVCC, Carrier Aggregation).
6. Knowledge of UMTS/WCDMA/GPRS/EDGE.
7. Knowledge of call flows (3G call/data flow, LTE call/data flow, IMS call flow).
8. Excellent academic record and good communication skills with a presentable personality.
